The African Grey Parrot (Psittacus Erithacus) is a medium-sized parrot endemic to the primary and secondary rainforest of West and Central Africa. Experts regard it as one of the most intelligent birds. They feed primarily on palm nuts, seeds, fruits, leafy matter, and have even been observed eating snails. Their overall gentle nature and their inclination and ability to mimic speech have made them popular pets.
Timnehs are like the Dennis the Menace of the parrot world. They are incredibly inquisitive and totally fearless, a little daunting for the average human.
The personality of these birds almost seems like a combination of the intelligence of the larger Congo African Grey and the sense of humor of the Amazon parrot.
We suggest a large cage (maybe even larger than that of the Congo African Grey), lots of interesting toys, and at least four perches of various materials, textures, and widths. And the owner better have a GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR!!!!
